Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the quasinormal modes (QNMs) of a scalar field in a static de Sitter spacetime within the framework of noncommutative geometry. Using the Moyal star-product and the Seiberg-Witten map to first order in the noncommutativity parameter \(\theta \), the corresponding equation of motion is reduced to a Schrödinger-type equation with an effective Pöschl-Teller potential. Then, the QNM spectrum is obtained analytically. We have shown that the noncommutativity breaks rotational symmetry and lifts the degeneracy with respect to the magnetic quantum number m. Moreover, we have studied the temporal evolution of scalar perturbations. It is shown how the noncommutativity modifies the amplitude of the signal leading to either enhanced or suppressed damping, depending on the sign of \(m\theta H\).

International Journal of Theoretical Physics publishes original research and reviews in theoretical physics and neighboring fields. Dedicated to the unification of the latest physics research, this journal seeks to map the direction of future research by original work in traditional physics like general relativity, quantum theory with relativistic quantum field theory,as used in particle physics, and by fresh inquiry into quantum measurement theory, and other similarly fundamental areas, e.g. quantum geometry and quantum logic, etc.
