Abstract
Large-scale optically active nanomaterials have attracted increasing attention due to their enhanced chiral optical responses. Compared with traditional nanoscale chiral systems, these large-scale structures can exhibit stronger circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence through effects such as collective resonance and near-field coupling. In recent years, significant progress has been made in this field, enabling the controlled synthesis of large-scale chiral nanomaterials and thereby opening up significant opportunities for their application in novel optical devices and functional materials.
This review systematically summarizes the latest advances in large-scale optically active nanomaterials, covering synthesis strategies, optical tuning, and application areas. We also delve into the intrinsic mechanisms underlying their chiral optical activity and analyze the correlations between structural parameters and optical responses. Finally, this review looks ahead to the major challenges currently facing the field and future directions for development. Despite significant breakthroughs, critical issues remain to be addressed, such as establishing quantitative models linking structural parameters to chiral optical properties, achieving precise structural control, and developing large-scale synthesis capabilities.
