Abstract

In order to address the hydrate blockage risk of CO2 hydrate, this paper proposes a novel nitrogen-containing heterocyclic thermodynamic inhibitor, 1,3,5-triazine. Liquid water–hydrate–gas (Lw–H–V) three-phase equilibrium conditions of CO2 hydrates with 1,3,5-triazine were studied using the isochoric method. The testing results present that 1,3,5-triazine has a significant inhibitory influence on hydrate formation, and the inhibitory effect strengthened with higher concentrations. Compared with n-methyldiethanolamine and ethylene glycol, 1,3,5-triazine has a stronger inhibitory effect, and its inhibition on hydrate formation is close to that of methanol. 1,3,5-Triazine has the advantages of low environmental influence and good stability, making it a potentially excellent new inhibitor.

The Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data is a monthly journal devoted to the publication of data obtained from both experiment and computation, which are viewed as complementary. It is the only American Chemical Society journal primarily concerned with articles containing data on the phase behavior and the physical, thermodynamic, and transport properties of well-defined materials, including complex mixtures of known compositions. While environmental and biological samples are of interest, their compositions must be known and reproducible. As a result, adsorption on natural product materials does not generally fit within the scope of Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data.
