Abstract
Speech brain–computer interfaces have promoted communication restoration in individuals with anarthria by decoding intended speech from sensorimotor cortical activity. The next generation of communication neuroprostheses could enable the decoding of conceptual representations and thereby support more individuals with expressive aphasia with compromised word retrieval.
