Abstract

Purpose: Since 2017, the RENEB network (Running the European Network of Biological and Retrospective Physical Dosimetry) is a group of specialized laboratories that can provide mutual assistance in individual dose estimation by biological and retrospective physical dosimetry for large-scale radiological or nuclear emergencies in Europe and beyond. To ensure the operability of RENEB, Working Group 'Infrastructures', regularly produce a survey to update partners contact details, collect information on laboratories emergency capacity/capabilities and sample transport.

Methods: An online survey was developed and distributed to RENEB members and completed in May 2025.

Results: Replies were received from scientists working in 29 institutes and provide a clear picture of the RENEB network's capacity and capability.

Conclusions: The data collected gives reassurance that RENEB is ready to react to a large-scale radiological event, as well as giving key information about operational aspects which will be essential during an emergency.
