Abstract

The reaction of 3-N-5-aryl-2-oxofuran-3(2H)-ylidene-4-methylbenzohydrazides with primary aromatic amines furnished a series of N-substituted 4-aryl-2-[2-(4-methylbenzoyl)-hydrazinylidene]-4-oxobutanamides. The new compounds were studied for their biological activity and were found to exhibit pronounced analgesic and antimicrobial effects.
