Abstract
The effect of five-fold injection molding on the properties of polypropylene grades PP H030 GP (230°C) and PPG 1350-21 (190°C) has been studied. For PP H030 GP, an increase in the melt flow index by 33% has been established, along with stability of strength indicators under tension, bending, and shrinkage; elongation increases, but decreases after the 5th recycling cycle. The Charpy unnotched impact strength at ‒20°C monotonically decreases by 28%. The properties of PPG 1350-21 are stable under five-fold recycling conditions. Heat treatment of all samples at 120°C for 1 h has a significant effect on their properties: the “neck” disappears, strength increases and elongation at break decreases, leveling both the effect of the polypropylene grade and the number of recycling cycles.
