Abstract
Protective technological coatings based on refractory glass in the BaO–CaO–SiO2 system, a refractory modification filler, and a blowing additive are studied. It was found that the introduction of zirconium oxide as a modifier in an amount of no more than 10 wt % has a positive influence on the protective properties of the coating. There is no interaction between the alloy and the coating after heat treatment of the EP742 alloy coated at 1150°C for 2 h, and there is no oxidation of the alloy. Additional incorporation of graphite and silicon carbide into the coating composition decreases significantly the cooling rate of the samples. A heterogeneous large-porous structure increases the thermal insulation properties of the coating compositions. The study of lubrication properties of the coatings showed that the friction coefficient depends on not only the temperature and the degree of deformation, but also the coating composition to a significant extent. A friction coefficient decreases by 8–10 times with the use of protective coatings compared to those of uncoated EP742 alloy samples. Moreover, both silicon carbide and graphite additions are equally effective.
