Abstract

Abstract: This commentary evaluates the systematic review assessing intracameral antibiotic prophylaxis in cataract surgery complicated by posterior capsular rupture. While pooled findings suggest reduced endophthalmitis risk, reliance on observational studies, heterogeneity in antibiotic agents, and limited patient-level data restrict causal interpretation. Prospective studies with standardized protocols are needed to guide optimal prophylactic strategies.
