Abstract
In the research, the Cadmium selenide /bismuth molybdate (CdSe/ Bi2MoO6) nanocomposite was successfully prepared using a hydrothermal method and characterized. The effect of irradiation time, pH, initial RY145 concentration, and nanocomposite dosage on the removal performance of RY145 was investigated, and the results revealed that CdSe/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposite improved the photocatalytic degradation of reactive yellow 145(RY145) until 86% in the following conditions: [RY 145]0 = 20 mg/L, nanocomposite dosage = 200 mg/L, pH = 2; Vis. Light = 300 W; time = 60 min. Also, it was found that hydroxyl radicals (°OH) are the major scavenging agent in RY145 degradation and CdSe/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposite has excellent stability after 5 cycles. Ultimately, the CdSe/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposite can be used as a novel nanocomposite with a high potential for removing RY145 from aqueous solutions.

BMC Chemistry, formerly known as Chemistry Central Journal, is now part of the BMC series journals family.
Chemistry Central Journal has served the chemistry community as a trusted open access resource for more than 10 years – and we are delighted to announce the next step on its journey. In January 2019 the journal has been renamed BMC Chemistry and now strengthens the BMC series footprint in the physical sciences by publishing quality articles and by pushing the boundaries of open chemistry.
