Mass media has unprecedented influence on global health care. Traditional and digital media are now leading to an era of "biomediatization" on a variety of platforms with both benefits and challenges. Likewise, the impact of mass media on the physician-patient alliance is evolving and significant. As an outgrowth of mass media, artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic tool on the distant horizon but rather a technological reality with transformative implications. Furthermore, practical advice for adapting to this digital terrain is essential. The foundation for linking the influence of digital media and AI on the physician-patient relationship is the living model of Jesus Christ, Physician and Healer. Moreover, this paradigm is interrelated to the influences of technology and AI upon the Church and the realm of spirituality. It also empowers the journey requisite for the maturation of faith. Ultimately, the benefits and challenges of technology and its evolving effects upon the physician-patient relationship must be filtered through the prism of the Christian ethos.
