The RABS are currently being revised and partially integrated into the Guidelines for Military Infrastructure and Civil Defense in Road and Civil Engineering (MIZ). Abstract

New edition of STANAG 2021 and current revision of RABS – Effects on the planning and calculation of infrastructure structures

The design and dimensioning of infrastructure structures are subject to requirements for civil traffic as well as for military traffic. The design and the assessment of bridges is based on the NATO-Standarization Agreement No. 2021 (STANAG 2021) and the Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Roads for Heavy Military Vehicles (RABS). A new edition of STANAG 2021 was published in November 2024. The RABS are currently being revised and partially integrated into the Guidelines for Military Infrastructure and Civil Defense in Road and Civil Engineering (MIZ).
