Abstract
This article considers the hyperexponential and practical prescribed-time synchronization of directed higher-order networks (DHONs) with or without external disturbances. First, a time-varying regulatory function for hyperexponential stability is proposed via a recursive formula. In virtue of it, we establish several new lemmas and theorems, extending the existing hyperexponential stability theory and connecting it with the practical prescribed-time synchronization. Through rigorous mathematic proofs, the sufficient conditions for achieving the practical prescribed-time synchronization hyperexponentially are derived. Next, on the basis of hyperexponential stability, we raise a class of generalized multiphase functions for multiphase synchronization, which encompasses the hyperexponential, hyperpolynomial, and hyperlogarithmic stability. Then, we apply the stability theory on the synchronization and control problems for DHONs. By defining two new transformation vectors, we convert the general hypergraph-based DHON model into a multiweighted network. With the help of the rearranging variables’ order technique, all coupling matrices are combined, the corresponding normalized left eigenvectors of the sum matrices are determined for constructing the Lyapunov function, resulting in synchronization criteria. Finally, four numerical simulations are presented to validate the theoretical findings.

In the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, the IEEE Control Systems Society publishes high-quality papers on the theory, design, and applications of control engineering. Two types of contributions are regularly considered:
1) Papers: Presentation of significant research, development, or application of control concepts.
2) Technical Notes and Correspondence: Brief technical notes, comments on published areas or established control topics, corrections to papers and notes published in the Transactions.
In addition, special papers (tutorials, surveys, and perspectives on the theory and applications of control systems topics) are solicited.
