Abstract

Old age depression can lead to significant functional impairment and severe deterioration in cognitive and physical health. Multimodal, individually tailored treatment for depression in old age should address affective symptoms, functional status, and cognition in the best possible way, as clinical management competes against reduced somatic and psychological reserves in the old patients.
