Abstract
The monodisperse cubic-phase CsPbBr3 thin films were synthesized based on stabilizer-assisted colloidal method, with oleic acid and octylamine as dual ligands. The effect of octylamine concentration on the microstructure and luminescence properties was systematically investigated. Characterization techniques were employed to analyze the film morphology, crystallinity, and optical characteristics. It is found that octylamine concentration critically governs perovskite crystal growth kinetics and defect passivation efficiency. Increasing octylamine concentration has progressively enlarged grain size, reduced the bandgap, and caused emission red-shifting, which is consistent with the shift in the UV–Vis absorption edge. The films with low octylamine concentration got well-dispersed particles but the reduced crystallinity, and the medium concentration produced a bimodal crystal size distribution and dual PL emission peaks at 515 nm and 539 nm. While, the high octylamine concentration induced surface cracks and defects, resulting in a drastic decrease in luminescence intensity. Ion beam-induced luminescence (IBIL) further confirmed the ligand modulation effect on luminescence, showing a red-shifted peak at 570 nm corresponding to the PL results. The octylamine ligands enable effective tuning of CsPbBr3 film microstructure and optical properties by regulating crystal nucleation/growth and surface passivation. It provides a critical insights for optimizing perovskite luminescent materials through ligand engineering.
