Abstract
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have witnessed rapid development in their power conversion efficiency (PCE) in recent times. However, defects on the perovskite film surface or grain boundary could lead to performance degradation in terms of the stability and efficiency of PSCs. In the present study, an organic tert-substituted aromatic compound with multifunctional groups of 4-Chloro-2-fluoro-6-iodoaniline (CFI) was introduced into perovskite films to achieve defect passivation on the film surface. In comparison to untreated perovskites, CFI-treated perovskites exhibited a smooth surface with lower defect density and non-radiative recombination within perovskite. This resulted in enhanced Voc and FF, consequently, the PCE of the planar PSC is improved from 22.52% to 24.26%. Furthermore, the environmental stability of PSCs is also enhanced. Therefore, surface passivation with organic compound containing multifunctional groups could serve as an effective strategy for defect passivating to improve the performance of PSCs.
