Abstract

Ian was a dear friend, mentor, and colleague, who introduced me to the world of international science and collaborators. I knew his family very well and we met frequently over the years, mostly professionally. He was a shining light in Canadian science and a leader in several areas of magnetic resonance. My commentary, however, highlights his mentoring me to the world of international travel and collaborations.
