Abstract

Introduction: High-altitude rehabilitation is an effective adjunct to standard therapy for chronic, mostly therapy-resistant lung diseases. This case demonstrates the benefit of a multimodal rehabilitation approach and supports its early use in difficult-to-control bronchial asthma. The allergen-low high-altitude climate of Davos, individualized measures, supportive therapies, and optimized inhalation techniques led in our case to significant improvement in pulmonary ventilation, reduced systemic steroid use, fewer exacerbations, and a markedly improved quality of life.
