Abstract
Based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), this study examines the relationship between behavioral intention in relation to artificial intelligence (AI) and the actual use of AI on knowledge management (KM) practices in organizations. Data was collected from 602 employees working in information technology departments in various Indian organizations. PROCESS macros and hierarchical regression were used to test the hypotheses. The results indicate: (i) Behavioral intention to use AI is a significant predictor of actual use of AI, (ii) performance expectancy mediates the relationship between behavioral intention and actual use of AI, (iii) actual use of AI is positively associated with KM practices and job satisfaction. The findings also suggest that effort expectancy moderates the relationship between employees' behavioral intention to use and actual use of AI by organizations. Based on the findings, theoretical and practical implications will be discussed.
