Abstract
The microtia is a congenital disease that might be simultaneously influenced by internal genetic level disorder and external hazardous substances. Since autophagy is an essential cell response to adverse conditions, its dysregulation has been found to be closely linked to a number of illnesses. In comparison, the role of genes that are related to autophagy in the pathogenesis of microtia is relatively rarely discussed. In the meanwhile, the study aims to determine the degree of expression and subsequent molecular pathways of autophagy-related genes and demonstrate the possible role autophagy may play in the pathophysiology of microtia. The method of computational bioinformatics analysis offers fresh perspectives and original motivations for further research in linked fields.

The Journal of Craniofacial Surgery serves as a forum of communication for all those involved in craniofacial surgery, maxillofacial surgery and pediatric plastic surgery. Coverage ranges from practical aspects of craniofacial surgery to the basic science that underlies surgical practice. The journal publishes original articles, scientific reviews, editorials and invited commentary, abstracts and selected articles from international journals, and occasional international bibliographies in craniofacial surgery.
