Abstract
The combination of canaloplasty and trabeculotomy (OMNI Surgical System, Sight Sciences) has been shown to be safe and effective in combination with cataract surgery and as a standalone procedure in pseudophakic eyes, however prospective standalone data including a medication washout at baseline and endpoints as reported herein has not been previously published This was a small, multicenter, single arm study of 2-year effectiveness of OMNI and employing a medication washout at baseline, 12, and 24 months. Eighteen eligible subjects were analyzed. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was reduced from 26.1 mmHg (3.9) at baseline to 16.5 (3.9) and 16.0 (3.2) at 12 and 24 months while medications were reduced from 1.8 (0.9) to 0.9 (1.2) and 0.5 (0.8), respectively. The IOP and medication reductions were statistically significant (all p<.001). Adverse events were generally mild and self-resolving; only one (dry eye) deemed possibly related to the procedure.
