Abstract
Electrosynthesis of ammonia (NH3) with renewable energy sources offers a highly promising alternative for sustainable NH3 production under mild conditions. Among the reported NH3 synthesis catalysts, single-atom catalysts display high activity, selectivity, and stability toward NH3 synthesis reactions owing to their well-defined catalytic sites and maximum metal-atom utilization. Conjugated coordination polymers (CCPs) with single-atom active sites and precisely controlled coordination environment hold significant potential in electrochemical NH3 synthesis. Abundant advances have been recently made toward the development of CCPs for NH3 synthesis at ambient conditions. This review specifically discusses several strategies of CCPs modification and their applications in the synthesis of NH3. Finally, the existing challenges are discussed and perspectives on future developments are provided.
