Abstract
In this paper, a third-order state–space model of the metal hydride tank is formulated and analysed. Before the identification of the unknown parameters of the model, we first analysed their identifiability, i.e., whether we can obtain a unique unknown parameter vector from the available information. Secondly, due to the large number of unknown parameters in the proposed model, the identification of all the unknown parameters requires huge computational costs. In order to reduce the number of unknown parameters that need to be identified, we performed a sensitivity analysis of unknown parameters for the developed model. Finally, since the model has two outputs, we performed single-objective and multi-objective identification on the same experimental data, and the results show that multi-objective identification is more effective.
