Abstract
In this work, the mitigated sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) corrosion of N80 steel in the tight gas produced water containing condensate oil was investigated. Results demonstrated that condensate oil exhibits an inhibition effect on both uniform and localized corrosion. Condensate oil has a toxic impact on SRB, resulting in a significant decrease in cell concentration, as observed in fluorescence images and cell counts. The corrosion rate caused by SRB reaches up to (0.086 ± 0.004) mm/y, and it declines to (0.024 ± 0.007) mm/y in the presence of condensate oil. SRB localized corrosion ((0.75 ± 0.04) mm/y) is also mitigated by condensate oil.
