Abstract

n this study, a porous NiAl coated nickel mesh electrode (EPS-NA) was designed by plasma spraying and alkaline etching. The sprayed ratio of Ni and Al plays a vital role to obtain a superior and stable performance in both hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The in-situ formed NiO phase were observed in the coating and significantly accelerate the HER kinetics by promoting the Volmer step.
