Abstract

In this short review, we discuss the issue of arrhythmogenicity of the pulmonary veins from an anatomical perspective. Based on classical studies, we summarise the current evidence, discussing it in the context of the anatomical and histological structure of the pulmonary veins and their junctions with the left atrium.
