Abstract

This study evaluates the feasibility of amorphous silicon (aSi 1000) electronic portal imaging device (EPID) detectors for in vivo dose verification during volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) treatment in prostate cancer. EPID calibration unit (CU) signals were converted into dose using a self-developed algorithm and validated with phantom and patient data. Among 53 patients, mean dose deviation from TPS was < 1%, with 64% within 5% and 7% exceeding 10%. The method demonstrated ~ 5% uncertainty.
