Abstract

Pluripotent stem cell (PSC)-based technologies offer a promising new approach to generating functional cells or grafts for transplantation. To minimize the risk of immune rejection, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that are homozygous for HLA Class I and Class II genes are a potential solution to reduce the risk of immune rejection in regenerative medicine applications. In this study, MUSIi023-A iPSC line was generated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of a Thai donor with 11 loci homozygous HLA. This cell line is free of viral integration, exhibited pluripotent stem cell characteristics and able to differentiate to all embryonic lineages.
