Abstract
Adenoid hypertrophy is a common cause of nasopharyngeal obstruction in children. The gold standard for diagnosis is nasal endoscopy, which allows for direct assessment of obstruction severity and therapeutic guidance. First-line treatment includes intranasal corticosteroids, which show short-term effectiveness. Surgery (adenoidectomy) is considered in case of treatment failure or severe obstruction. Although endoscopic techniques enable more complete tissue removal, no significant clinical benefit over conventional curettage has been clearly demonstrated.
