Abstract
This work investigates a soft host for liquid crystal lasers, formed by blending intrinsic chiral carbon nanotubes (c-CNTs) into cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs). The emission intensity of the doped luminescent dye (DCM) exhibited pronounced photonic bandgap dependence. Furthermore, blending c-CNTs significantly enhanced the DCM emission intensity and improved its long-term stability, attributed to multi-domain scattering arising from internal refractive index variations. These findings provide insights into the tunability of liquid crystal lasers and highlight the potential of c-CNTs blending CLC-hosts for applications in photonics, imaging, and medicine.
