Abstract

ZnO(x)/Al2O3 composites with nanocrystalline-amorphous structure were synthesized via a co-precipitation strategy for the efficient electrooxidation of biomass-based furfuryl alcohol to high-value-added 6-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-6H-pyrano-3-one. High selectivity (87.0%) and faradaic efficiency (79.7%) were achieved. The potential mechanism was proposed.
