Abstract

The radio meteorological situation in the region is characterized by both vertical and horizontal distribution of the VHF refractive index in the troposphere. Based on data from 94 meteorological stations in the Republic of Buryatia and the Irkutsk Region, the refractive index values were calculated at standard meteorological times (UTC + 8). The present work gives the results of data processing for 2020 using a specially developed typical day method in which data for each day of the month are grouped into a specific meteorological period. Thus, data arrays have been obtained for the typical days of the month and its statistical characteristics (average values and standard deviations) have been calculated for each station in the region. A series of contour maps of average values and standard deviations of the VHF refractive index have been constructed for the region.
