While traditionally managed surgically, recent literature proposes nonoperative management for low-risk injuries.</p><p><strong>Case presentation: </strong>This case illustrates a 56-year old Caucasian Canadian female with a grade IIIA injury successfully treated conservatively using an endotracheal tube and medical therapy. Abstract
