Abstract

On the basis of the analysis of the parameters of acoustic-gravity waves from the underwater eruption of the volcano Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Hapai (hereinafter referred to as Tonga), some features of the generation of these waves and their long-range propagation in the atmosphere are revealed. The hypothesis that the eruption of the Tonga volcano was accompanied by four underwater explosions is formulated on the basis of comparison of pressure signals from the Tonga volcano with the signals generated by both atmospheric and underground explosions, and similar volcanic eruptions.
