Abstract

The importance of nanotechnology and nanoscience evolution has been highlighted by recent technological advancements. A multidisciplinary field of study, nanotechnology encompasses materials science, physics, chemistry, and other engineering sciences. Nanotechnology is being used more and more in almost every branch of science and technology. The current review discusses a brief history of nanomaterials and the different types of nanoparticles and the methods used in their manufacture and characterization. Although a lot of methods and uses have been documented in the previous five years, we carefully concentrated on the general synthesis methods, characterization techniques, and uses of nanomaterials here in order to give aspiring researchers a general understanding.
