Abstract

The perceptual uniformity of the CIE 1931 (x, y) and CIE 1976 (u', v') chromaticity spaces is examined using the latest color difference metric. A honeycomb sampling method reveals that the u'v' space is less uniform than the xy space, highlighting the need to abandon the u'v' space and adopt gamut rings for color gamut visualization.
