Abstract

Primary intracardiac repair during the neonatal or early infantile period is challenging in low-birth-weight infants with coarctation of the aorta and a ventricular septal defect. We performed a staged repair in a 1020 g infant, beginning with stent angioplasty followed by surgical repair with direct anastomosis.
