Abstract
We developed a soft magnetoelastic smart pen with ferrofluid ink that converts hand motions into precise electrical signals as a low-cost and easily accessible Parkinson’s disease diagnostic. Neural network-assisted analysis of handwriting motion captured by the smart pen in a preliminary human study accurately identified individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
