Abstract
In this paper, sound absorption and scattering in suspensions with rotational particle motion is analyzed. Such rotational (angular) oscillations are possible if the particle’s center of mass is shifted with respect to the center of buoyancy. In such suspensions, there is specific sound attenuation and scattering. These effects can be used in problems of diagnosing suspensions in natural environments and technological processes, as well as in creating metamaterials.
