Commercial CW magnetrons as standard have excellent pulse characteristics: pulse power control range with high efficiency up to 8 kW, pulse duration from 0.3 μs to continuous mode, and repetition rate of at least 1 MHz. A mode for generating sequences of paired pulses with an adjustable time shift from 1 μs is possible. The parameters take place both in the auto-generation mode and in the synchronization mode with an external signal. A high-voltage switching power supply with adjustable parameters was used for measurements. On a passive resistive load, the source provides a high output voltage of 4.0–5.2 kV, output current up to 3A in pulse mode and 0.5 A in average mode, pulse duration from 0.1 μs, pulse rise less than 0.1 μs, and repetition rate up to 1 MHz.
