Abstract
Long known for different circuit roles, parvalbumin and somatostatin interneurons are shown by Morabito et al.,1 in this issue of Neuron, to differ in dendritic integration strategies. This cell-type-specific branch logic-sublinear versus supralinear-arises from synapse location and composition, shaping inhibitory timing in the cortex.
