Abstract
Amphiphilic molecular brushes with a polyimide or cellulose main chain and polymethacrylic acid (PMAA) side chains, as well as binary and ternary selenium-containing nanodispersions based on these brushes and the photosensitizer Photoditazine (PD) were synthesized. A comparative study of graft copolymers (graft-CPs) with a polyimide or cellulose main chain (with a variable degree of polymerization of the PMAA side chains) and graft-CPs loaded with selenium nanoparticles (NPs) and PD was carried out using UV-Vis and luminescence spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The influence of the structure and topology of the graft-CPs on the structural and spectral characteristics of both free amphiphilic molecular brushes and brushes loaded with selenium NPs and PD was determined. It is suggested that the formation of selenium-containing compositions is carried out mainly via the steric stabilization of selenium NPs with brush macromolecules and the incorporation of selenium NPs similar to the case of metal-porphyrin complexes. Based on the results of spectroscopy in the UV-Vis region, the band gap energies and the diameters of the selenium NPs were calculated for binary and ternary systems. Luminescence quantum yields were determined for ternary systems.
