Unique Employment and Volunteer Roles in Nursing Professional Development.

Abstract

Employment as a Director of Professional Development and volunteering in various nursing professional development (NPD) roles provide unique opportunities for implementing NPD standards of practice and professional performance. This article describes how both employment and volunteer activities link to the NPD scope and standards and how those standards have guided achievement of positive outcomes in each role.
