Abstract
This study efforts on the synthesis of 1,5-naphthyridine derivatives and their biological activities. The structural characterization of the newly synthesized compounds was determined employing spectral data, including IR, NMR (1H and 13C), mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The SAR investigation, specifically with methoxy-substituted derivatives, exhibited notable antioxidant activity, nitro-substituted derivatives had discriminative anticancer activity against all cell lines, and chloro-substituted compounds had promising anti-tubercular activity. This study demonstrates that scaffold structures and variations of moieties can influence biological activity. Consequently, pyrano[2,3-b]pyridine-6-cabonitrile series represent acceptable drug candidates for further in vivo drug development, as they represent drug candidates for cancer and tuberculosis.
期刊介绍:
Russian Journal of General Chemistry is a journal that covers many problems that are of general interest to the whole community of chemists. The journal is the successor to Russia’s first chemical journal, Zhurnal Russkogo Khimicheskogo Obshchestva (Journal of the Russian Chemical Society ) founded in 1869 to cover all aspects of chemistry. Now the journal is focused on the interdisciplinary areas of chemistry (organometallics, organometalloids, organoinorganic complexes, mechanochemistry, nanochemistry, etc.), new achievements and long-term results in the field. The journal publishes reviews, current scientific papers, letters to the editor, and discussion papers.
