Data on study characteristics, nutritional indicators, SSI rates, and postoperative outcomes were extracted and analyzed.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Of 2,766 articles identified, 20 met inclusion criteria. Malnutrition, particularly low serum albumin, was significantly associated with increased SSIs, longer hospital stays, higher complication rates, and increased readmissions.
