Antibodies against poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) accelerate lipid nanoparticle clearance and increase reactogenicity. A recent paper explores solutions using branched PEG alternatives that reduce anti-PEG antibody (APA) binding and improve therapeutic outcomes in multi-dose protein replacement and Cas9 gene editing models, opening avenues for the use of LNPs in chronic settings.
