Gestion des problèmes urologiques post-phalloplastie (FtM) : conseils pour l’urologue

Abstract

La phalloplastie est une étape majeure dans le parcours des personnes transgenres FtM et non binaires présentant une incongruence de genre. Elle vise à aligner l’apparence physique avec l’identité de genre. Cette mise au point explore la prise en charge des complications spécifiques de la phalloplastie mais également les particularités de la gestion des pathologies urologiques générales chez ces patients, telles que les infections urinaires ou la maladie lithiasique. Il offre aux urologues des conseils pratiques pour adapter leur conduite à tenir en urgence et en consultation, en tenant compte des spécificités anatomiques et psychosociales de cette population afin d’améliorer la qualité des soins et de garantir une prise en charge globale et adaptée.

Phalloplasty is a major step in the journey of FtM transgender and non-binary individuals experiencing gender incongruence. It aims to align physical appearance with gender identity. This review examines the management of phalloplasty-specific complications as well as the unique aspects of addressing general urological conditions in these patients, such as urinary tract infections or urolithiasis. It provides practical guidance for urologists to adapt their approach in emergency and outpatient settings, considering the anatomical and psychosocial specificities of this population, with the goal of improving care quality and ensuring comprehensive and tailored management.
