In Vivo Reflectance Confocal Microscopy Findings in a Case of Syringoid Eccrine Carcinoma

Abstract

Herein the RCM features of syringoid eccrine carcinoma are described in a 77-year-old female patient with a facial lesion on her left cheek, emphasizing its infiltrative behaviour within a dense, sclerotic stroma. These distinctive characteristics may serve as a key diagnostic clue for syringoid eccrine carcinoma, which can clinically, dermoscopically, and even on RCM, closely resemble both benign lesions and other malignant conditions, such as basal cell carcinoma.
