In this work, Mn-doped ZnSe microspheres were synthesized by the hydrothermal method, and the photodetectors based on them were fabricated on paper substrates using a simple all-dry rubbing technique. Mn element is totally incorporated into the ZnSe lattice in the substitutional form, and the electron-density and light absorbance in wide region are enhanced significantly when the molar ratio of Mn-dopant concentration is 2 %. The fabricated photodetector based on 2-MnZnSe shows the best responsivity and detectivity under UV and visible light illuminations due to the relatively high photogenerated carriers and charge transfer rate.
