Abstract
A compact dual-port CPW-fed circular ring antenna with a fractal triangle patch (DCCT) for wireless communications is presented in this paper. The antenna is implemented on an FR-4 substrate. The DCCT antenna resonates at 7.07 GHz and 9.09 GHz, exhibiting reflection coefficients of −35.15 dB and −31.83 dB, respectively. A circular ring structure with fractal slotted triangles, applied through two iterations, enables dual-band operation with enhanced reflection characteristics. The overall dimensions of the DCCT antenna are 36 × 28 mm2. The observed gains at the resonant frequencies are 4.03 dBi and 5.75 dBi. The antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 2.98 GHz. The correlation between the dual ports is evaluated using MIMO performance metrics, including ECC, DG, CCL, TARC, and efficiency. The antenna parameters were analyzed using CST Microwave Studio and validated through measurements with a vector network analyzer. The results demonstrate that the proposed DCCT antenna is suitable for wireless communication applications.
